RoyaleLife wins award for resilience at prestigious Solent 250 Awards

Whiteley based RoyaleLife has won a top accolade in this year’s Solent 250 Awards.

The UK’s leading bungalow provider for the over 45s won first place in the ‘Resilience’ category, after impressing judges with its formidable presence and growth during the pandemic and its commitment to delivering high-quality luxury homes.

The glittering awards event, which was hosted by The Business Magazine at the Southampton Harbour Hotel on 29th March, recognises the very best privately owned SMEs and large corporate companies. And, after an exceptional year of growth, the RoyaleLife team were thrilled to be presented with the top award.

Chief Operations Officer at RoyaleLife, Jason Williams, and Marketing Director, Ben Smith, were both in attendance, and accepted the award on behalf of the company.

Ben said: “Our growth and success come from believing in what we do and in the solution we are providing for people. We’re in the fortunate position of being able to change people’s lives by offering them a new lifestyle in a detached, single-storey home with a garden, and in a community of like-minded people.

“Resilience for us came from having a clear ambition and the drive not to be held back while we contended with the property market slowing down and, on the development side, shortages of materials and manpower.

“We took the bold move to increase our marketing activity when other companies were slashing theirs, and this paid huge dividends for our brand awareness and enquiry levels. The pandemic has hurt a lot of people and companies, but it has also made good, well-run businesses more efficient and stronger as a result.”

And, in a challenging time for companies across the country, the developer has still managed to come out on top.

Ben added: “We have a lot of passion in our business, from board level to our senior management team and throughout our hard-working staff across all departments, and we’re thrilled to accept this award on behalf of everyone.”

CEO at RoyaleLife, Robert Bull added: “Being recognised as a market leader is a huge achievement, and it has taken a lot of hard work from our incredible team to earn the excellent reputation that we enjoy today.

“Our business model works because we have identified a growing demand for low maintenance living and are addressing the shortage of single-storey homes.

“In the last decade alone, it has become more prevalent than ever that the UK’s major housing developers have pushed aside single-storey living in favour of building as many homes as possible. The COVID-19 pandemic has hugely shifted the nation’s buying perceptions however, with the demand for bungalows becoming bigger than ever.”

The Solent 250 is an annual listing of the 250 largest privately-owned businesses in the region. Featured in The Business Magazine, sponsors of the awards include specialist recruiter CMA Recruitment Group, HSBC UK, law firm Irwin Mitchell and advisory and accountancy firm RSM.
